4 Signs Your Business Needs Help With Digital Advertising

4 Signs Your Business Needs Help With Digital Advertising
    📋 TL;DR

You need a digital advertising partner when four things show up together: you keep remaking videos without knowing why some work, you can't say whether your ads are profitable, every platform update feels like noise, and you have no time to keep up. Each one is fixable. All four at once means it's not your job anymore — it should be someone's whole job.

The four signs you need a digital advertising agency are: your videos are a guessing game, you can't tell if your ads are profitable, ad-platform updates leave you confused about what matters, and you don't have time to keep up with what's working. If two or more sound familiar, you're paying for advertising without a system behind it — and that's exactly the gap a dedicated team closes.

Sign 1: Do you keep remaking videos without knowing why some work?

Remaking ad videos over and over — because some work, some don't, and nobody can tell you why — is the first sign your business needs help with digital advertising. Without a testing plan, every new video is a coin flip. The fix isn't "make more videos." It's making videos on purpose: clear angles, several hooks per video, and a way to read the results so the next batch is built on what actually sold.

Creative is the lever that matters most. In a joint study of the drivers behind ad sales lift, Nielsen and Nielsen Catalina Solutions (2017) found that creative quality contributes as much to a brand's in-market success as all other factors combined — and when creative is strong, it drives up to 89% of the result for digital advertising. If your videos are random, your results will be too. (More on that in why the video hook is the most important part.)

That's the situation Turfit LLC, an artificial-turf installer in Pinellas County, was in: years of referrals, project photos, occasional videos and Google Ads, but never a consistent video ad strategy. We built them a library of ads around the transformation — before-and-after, process, customer proof — so they're no longer guessing what to post.

Sign 2: Have you worked with several vendors and still don't know if you're profitable?

If you've hired videographers, marketing agencies and freelancers and still can't say whether your ads make money, that's sign number two. The problem usually isn't any single vendor — it's that each one owns one piece and nobody owns the result. The videographer films, the agency runs ads, and you end up being the person connecting the pieces.

You're not alone. According to Marketing Week's 2025 Language of Effectiveness survey (with Kantar and Google, 1,000+ brand marketers), only 38.3% of marketers always include ROI in their effectiveness analysis — even though ROI is the top metric CEOs and CFOs use to judge marketing (53.4%).

Progress Construction & Renovation, a high-end Tampa contractor, came to us after working with other agencies and being disappointed with the quality and direction of the marketing. We gave them the creative and marketing direction they'd been missing, built for the high-value clients they actually want.

Sign 3: Do ad-platform updates leave you unsure what actually matters?

Meta, Google and TikTok change how their ad systems work constantly, and most business owners hear about every update without knowing which ones change anything for them. That's sign three. You want someone to cut through the noise and tell you the two things that matter this quarter.

Some updates really do change the game. Meta's Andromeda shift, for example, moved the lever from audience targeting to creative volume — we broke it down in Meta Ads 2026: Andromeda made creativity king. Most updates don't. Knowing the difference is a full-time job.

Sign 4: Do you have no time to keep up with trends and what's working?

You run a business. Keeping up with formats, trends, hooks and campaign results on top of that is how marketing turns into a second job you never applied for. That's sign four — and it's usually the one that makes the other three worse.

As I say in the video: "That's not your job. That's ours."

    ❓ FAQ

When should a small business hire a digital advertising agency?

When you're already spending on ads but can't say what's working, can't tell if it's profitable, and don't have the time to fix either. If you're not advertising yet, start with clear creative before anything else.

Is it better to hire one agency or several specialists?

Several specialists can work if someone owns the result. Most owners end up being that person by default. One team that makes the ads and runs them removes the hand-offs.

What does The Alpha Omega Hub actually do?

We create video ads and the strategy behind them for Tampa Bay businesses — concepts, scripts, filming, actors and editing, all in-house. Through The Winning Reels Blueprint® we also run and track those ads.

Is the first video shoot really free?

Yes. Five ready-to-launch video ads, no invoice, no watermark and no obligation to hire us afterwards. You own the videos.
